Admissions Policies and Procedures

Our Lady of Grace High School, Inc. is a non-profit, private school incorporated under the laws of the state of Texas. While maintaining independence as a private corporation, Our Lady of Grace High School works cooperatively and mutually with the Superintendent’s Office of the Diocese of Fort Worth and recognizes and respects the proper canonical authority of the Bishop of Ft. Worth in matters relevant to instruction in the doctrines and belief of the Catholic Church.

ADMISSIONS POLICIES

NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT

Our Lady of Grace admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, and athletic and other school administered programs.

SPECIAL LEARNING NEEDS

Our Lady of Grace High School does not have the personnel, or the facilities at this time to effectively address the needs of children who have emotional or behavioral problems or who have learning disabilities that require special programs. Our Lady of Grace High School, though, can provide most classroom accommodations for students with mild learning differences. Outside testing may be recommended for students identified by the faculty as candidates for special programs. Parents are encouraged to discuss accommodation needs with the administration early in the admissions process. Special instructional educational programs must be completed by licensed and certified educational specialists and be on file at the school office prior to accommodations being received by the student.

CATHOLIC FAMILIES

Our Lady of Grace High School professes to support all of the teachings of the Catholic Church as pronounced by the teaching Magisterium. It is assumed that Catholic families seeking admission to the school support the school in this profession and would only contribute to the harmonious spirit needed for their children to fully benefit from the education offered at Our Lady of Grace.

ENROLLENT PREFERENCE:

1. Current students meeting re-enrollment criteria

2. Siblings of currently enrolled students

3. Catholic students graduating from diocesan and private Catholic schools

4. Non-Catholic students graduating from these schools

5. Catholic homeschooled students (Transfer credits for homeschooled students

will be determined on a case by case basis).

FAMILIES OF OTHER FAITHS

Families of other Faiths are welcome to inquire, but preference is given to Catholic families when considering space available. When families of other Faiths are accepted it is understood that they support the polices contained herein including the policy that their children will be receiving religious instruction in the Catholic Faith, and that they will be expected to attend Mass and take part in any religious devotions or activities of the school. Parents of children of other Faiths, as do Catholic parents, further agree that their children are not permitted to debate the validity of Catholic teachings. However, this does not prohibit honest inquiry.

CRITERIA FOR RE-ENROLLMENT

READMISSION AFTER WITHDRAWAL

In the event that a family withdraws from Our Lady of Grace and then expresses a desire to re-enroll, the school may refuse enrollment or require the family to complete the interview and registration process again. Reasons readmission might be denied could be anything deemed by the Administration to be detrimental to the harmony at Our Lady of Grace. Reasons may include but are not limited to the following:

1.) Previous lack of support for the philosophy or policies of the school by parents

or students.

2.) Previous lack of cordial cooperation with, and support for, the teachers and

administration.

3.) Previous withdrawal that reflected negatively on the reputation of the school

or teachers.

4.) A determination by the administration that a student acclimated to another

program will have difficulty readjusting at Our Lady of Grace.

It is understood that there are legitimate reasons for withdrawal and reentry such as relocation, etc. However, it is important for the stability of the school that a “revolving door” situation is avoided.

The education of your child is a partnership between you and the school. If, in the opinion of school administrators, the partnership is irretrievably broken, you may be required to withdraw your child from the school.

Admission to Our Lady of Grace is premised on the following:
